This is Mrs. Kimotho. Our CRE, Kiswahili, English, and Science teacher. 👏
If knowledge is power, then she was the national grid!
Her teaching journey began in 1985 at Wang’uru Primary. Five years later, she brought her radiant energy to Ruai Primary. For 33 unbroken years, her youthful flame burned like a candle.
Brightening, warming, and shaping young minds (ours included!).
On August 5, 2023, we walked down memory lane with her. Not just in nostalgia. But, in deep gratitude. We are grateful for the grammar drills. The Kiswahili vitendawili were enlightening. The science diagrams made us learn better.
We appreciate the gentle but firm corrections. These transformed our “mother tongue” twangs into polished language skills.
She is more than a teacher. She is a Grandteacher.
Yes, you read that right. Some of us sent our children through her class. We unknowingly enlisted them into the alumni of Kimotho’s Academy of Life & Language. 😄
For over 40 years…
She’s been married to her gíthéreméndé (sweetheart). Two biological children, and countless “adopted” ones later. They’re walking proof that Love isn’t a scam. ❤️
We asked what she’d do with a million shillings. Her eyes twinkled. “I’d go to Zanzibar… again!” Classic Mrs. Kimotho! Graceful, grounded, and gloriously real.
We sang her favorite rhyme: “Abba Father, you are the potter, we are the clay…” It became clear. The hands that molded us were steady. They were seasoned and full of love.
It was good to be home with you, Mwalimu.
