In February 2023, the Supreme Court of Kenya (SCoK) ruled in favor of the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (NGLHRC). Granting them the right to register and associate, as enshrined in Kenya’s Constitution.
This win for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community caused an uproar among Christians. It triggered an age old tussle for supremacy among Western colonizers, Christian missionaries, and the African culture on the gender agenda .
In a 2019 ruling on homosexuality, the High Court equated sex to marriage. It reaffirmed the constitution’s definition of marriage, as a union between people of the opposite sex. As a result, same-sex relationships were criminalized.
Is the homosexual act, relationship or orientation illegal?
It is a felony for any person to have carnal knowledge of any other person against the order of nature. It is punishable by up to 14 years' imprisonment.Kenya’s Penal Code, Section 162
The petitions had no merit. Decriminalizing same-sex relations contradicts constitutional values and customs of the Kenyan people

Paul Muite, the NGLHRC’s lawyer appealed the ruling. Reading from a different script, Charles Kanjama, the Kenya Christian professional’s lawyer was happy that the court set aside the case opposed by a majority of Kenyans.
Back in 2019, the LGBTQ people’s tears 😭 flowed freely as the High court dismissed their same-sex case. But in 2023, they were ecstatic on the NGLHRC’s win.
A divided humanity. A clash of the Western/African traditions, lawyers and opinions.
Since the February 2023 ruling, Kenyans have been trading barbs over the LGBTQ question, “What is your gender?” Whose agenda is the LGBTQ narrative?
The LGBTQ question is (re)defining colonial sex laws, nature’s order, African traditions, and Human rights. A threat to family.

LGBTQ debaters have morphed into antagonists. One side saying gender is binary (male and female). The other side saying there are up to 27 genders (LGBTQ+)! With a BBC’s programme for 9-12 year olds claiming there are over 100 genders.
In the legal push and pull, should Kenyans accept the SCoK’s verdict on President Ruto’s win in the 2022 General Elections, but reject its ruling in favor of the LGBTQ community?
On sex, who is supreme, the Creator, the Courts, or the Community?

To help bridge the divide, Lynn Ngugi, a media personality and YouTube content creator hosted a two-part, five-hour debate between Christians and the LGBTQ community, with the icebreaker question, “Why were Christians so upset by the SCoK’s gender ruling?”
A dicey discussion on a queer subject.
Lynn hosted Antonina Achieng’ (a Chaplain), Dr. Eda Tatu (a Medical Psychologist) and Daddy Owen (a Gospel Minister), who were emphatically opposed to the LGBTQ vibe.
Across the aisle was Carlisle Nyambura (an Ecofeminist), Dasi Hussein (a Luxury Events Designer) and Anita Ray (a Media Personality), who propped the LGBTQ story.
The debate-cum-argument showcased a confluence of conflicting beliefs.
Off to a provocative start, Daddy Owen had on the day previous to the debate tweeted that LGBTQ people are perverts.
Onwards, the anti LGBTQ brigade pitched their beliefs on the biblical definition of gender, as male and female. To them, the LGBTQ movement has a diabolical agenda.
At every debating opportunity, they unmasked the 1960’s sexual revolution ideology: (i) Depopulating Africa, (ii) Promoting divorce and (iii) Advancing the gender agenda.
Has the West been pursuing totalitarian control? Is it a lie with a sadistic end game.
While depopulation separates babies from the sexual act, divorce separates children from their biological parents and gender separates sex from the body. They argued that this is potentially a systemic evil seeking to destroy lives and families.
Sixty years later, we are confronted by the vagaries of abortion and contraceptives, divorce-traumatized children, a multimillion fertility industry that is advancing IVF and surrogacy motherhood, and LGBTQ, which is promoting radical feminism.
While nature directs a woman towards child bearing, we now have a generation of young women frowning at nurturing kids.
Antonina contended that homosexuals will be the first to be cast into hell, alongside those involved with the occult and drugs, the sexually immoral, murderers, and idol-worshippers. Everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
She infused that God can’t stand those who reject His love. They will be eternally doomed, together with the Antichrist, who will not desire women (referring to Daniel 11:37).
Dr. Eda who is in her 60s spoke last. Using her child-trauma experience and science, she argued how sterilization, abortion, contraceptives and decoupling children from their biological parents was an assault to the family unit.
She argued that LGBTQ was ushering in the New Age reality, bereft of children or posterity. The risk of human extinction.
In her view, family and marriage are the bedrock of society. Not mincing her words, she posed that if you put same-sex individuals on an island, how long would such a community last?
She called out individuals and organizations that were enriching themselves. In her view, it is a devilish pursuit to indoctrinate innocent young people into a future with no biological father, mother or children. She claimed that Japan is in a demographic winter, where everyone is aging without replacement?
Has money been poured to promote depopulation, divorce and diversify gender?
The LGBTQ side poked holes on these beliefs. First, they mutilated religion as a weapon used to colonize uncivilized Africans, then and now.
They argued that the binary definitions of male and female were constructed by colonizers. This was out of their selfish interests to divide Africans by gender.
Trashing the biblical and African culture arguments, the LGBTQ side said queer and trans people existed since time immemorial. They cited the biblical stories of David and Jonathan (as gay), and Ruth and Naomi (as lesbian). Digging in that LGBTQ have always been a minority, against a sinister agenda to discriminate/eliminate them.
Barely in her 30s, Carlisle argued that only the ten commandments and the eight beatitudes were inspired by God. The rest of the bible was adulterated by its messengers.
In her opinion Christians were hypocrites who selfishly cherry-picked scriptures.
Dasi kept asking, “Do you have a problem with the LGBTQ people, personally?
“What have we done to offend you or that is so sinful? Are comedians and cross-dressers saliently expressing who they really are?” He claimed that the LGBTQ people are very talented, intelligent and gifted. That they do what most people wish they could do.
To flaunt the LGBTQ problem, the debate brought up the heinously killing of Edwin Chiloba in January 2023. And the dumping of his body in a metal trunk on a roadside.
Was Chiloba brutally murdered by his homosexual lover, Jackton Odhiambo?
In the galore of opinions, feelings, entitlement, misinformation and falsehood, the antagonists crowned it with the Sodom and Gomorrah story. Antonina maintained that it was sodomy in the city of Sodom that attracted God’s wrath.
The conversations were bordering on very slippery slopes.
Carlisle objected. Posing that rape and sodomy were acceptable in Sodom’s culture. She asked, “Wasn’t Lot offering his daughters for rape?” According to him/her, their crime was their unfettered craving to sodomize Lot’s guests (angels).
Is LGBTQ an offshoot of man’s brokenness and his aspiration for the ideal?
In between the contending factions was the psychological narrative of man’s brokenness. Antonina claimed that we are broken at birth because of Adam’s sin. Our dysfunctionality, stems from our upbringing. Right through to how we show up in life, work and relationships.
At a very young age, Dr. Eda said she was sodomized by a lesbian.
Though she is healed of the trauma, it wasn’t until 45 years later that she disclosed the experience to her mother. She is divorced and co-parents her sons. Is this brokenness?
Antonina broke away from the grip of infertility. With medical intervention she prevailed and is now raising sons. As a result, she became a pro life and family activist. Is she unbroken?
A traumatized individual needs healing. Not a redefined sexual identity.
Dr. Eda opined that abused emotions can be sexualized. If a boy-child grows without a father, he might be attracted to male figures or develop unwanted sexual attraction. Not because he is homosexual. But because of an unmet emotional need.
Same sex attraction results from an emotional need that becomes sexualized. A boy craving for a relationship with the male figure (father) and not having it. Or if a boy was bullied and didn’t relate well with any male figure.
Same for the girl-child. Trauma begets trauma. We need to identify and listen to the traumatized people with compassion. Not with judgement.
Children need a functioning relationship between their daddy and mummy. She asserted that divorce affects the children involved more than the adults. Research shows that children raised by both parents have significantly different outcomes compared to those raise by single parents.
Are there adherents in the LGBTQ movement who are genuinely confused?
Carlisle wasn’t listening to the brokenness narrative with her hands down. She was stoic and projected raw emotions. Vehemently countering it. She argued that therapists erroneously created and are using Conversion Therapy, to ‘treat’ LGBTQ people.
LGBTQ people need acceptance, not Conversion Therapy (healing)!
Some traditions say that you don’t laugh at a mad person who is naked. When you see someone in trouble, you don’t scorn them. God’s law is written in our hearts. We know what is right and what is wrong.
When solving sexuality problems resulting from brokenness, should we go to the root cause of the problem? Or should we change an individual’s sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression? Were most LGBTQ people wounded by their fathers? Is LGBTQ building on brokenness?
God covers broken people. Think of the woman caught in the act of adultery.
Watching the debate, one could feel the deviation from binary to reprobate gender definitions. He is not a man. He is not gay. He is lesbian. She is bisexual. She is transgender. Maybe they are not. They are queer. They are intersex.
Inflamed with lust for one another. There is no end to how far man is degenerating. Man is free to be defiant and deviant. But he is not free to choose the consequences of his choices.
Does the church and other religions have a stake in the LGBTQ agenda?
In some instances, the debate was almost losing decorum. The youngest in the troops, Daddy Owen and Carlisle fumed as they sat across each other. Emotions were rising.
As the emotions flared, Dr. Eda, the calming voice of reason, brandished her grandmother tag. Her language wasn’t as incisive as Daddy Owen’s, though both were opposed to LGBTQ. She gently cautioned him against triggering people’s past trauma.
She called him out for calling the LGBTQ people perverts. Love wins. Hate the sin

Anita, an ally of the LGBTQ community was happy with the SCoK ruling that protected their right to association. In her eyes, the LGBTQ people are not bandits, drug dealers or terrorists.
They have a right to live, free speech and self expression. They should not live in fear. LGBTQ people are not aliens.
Although an ally, her only caution to them was, “Don’t teach my children how to love. I will teach them. Everybody has a right to live the way they want. Be you. Do you.”
Are (high) schools the new breeding places for LGBTQ?
Slowly, the conversation weaved into how children and teenagers are being intentionally targeted with the LGBTQ message.
In their highly impressionable years and just when their sexuality is emerging, kids are inundated with cartoons and incentives that package LGBTQ as an appealing alternative lifestyle.
Is the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) enabling or disabling children to realize their rights? Is it challenging and changing social and cultural norms in the guise of helping children to make informed choices?
What about the LGBTQ-laced cartoons? Whose agenda are they propagating?
Children are fairly innocent about their sexuality, let alone sexual orientation. Sexuality manifests at teenage, when they seek self and peer identity/assertion. When LGBTQ options are hurled at them in cartoons, pornography or through the CSE, even Anita, an ally to the LGBTQ crossed over to the anti LGBTQ brigade.
We need to nip the LGBTQ’s mission in the bud. It is destroying Gen Z’s worldview.
Medical science claims high incidences of cancer of the anus and colon, rectal prolapse, suicide, depression, drug abuse, and HIV among the LGBTQ members.
Is the confluence of scientific data and religious beliefs against the LGBTQ agenda a coincidence?

Departing from God’s ideal and forgetting whose image and likeness we bear.
We end up in delusions. Bizarre stories of a woman feeling trapped in a man’s body or vice versa. A Norwegian man identifying as a disabled woman. Dwyane Wade, the former NBA basketballer whose (trans) son came out as a girl.
Flipping the coin, you hear of failed gender transitions by ex-LGBTQ members.
Scott Newgent is 48-years old. Formerly known as Kellie King, s/he transitioned at 42, from a lesbian to a transman. S/he endured up to 17 surgeries to transition. S/he was duped that gender transitioning was as simple as chewing gum, only to find him/herself in several near-death experiences.
It is a dark web championed by multimillion dollar pharmaceuticals and philanthropists. Their resources run deep like a bottomless pit!
With no legal recourse, Scott couldn’t save him/herself from the ensuing confusion or sue anyone. S/he is but a drop in the ocean of self-inflicted suffering, arising from the diabolical gender ideology.
Countless tales are told of women with botched contraceptives, post-abortion and euthanasia nightmares. Expensive sex change involving cutting off breasts and fashioning a penis, causing irreversible regrets.
There are innumerable suppressed stories of (trans) people who are trying to come out. Doors that open spiritually can’t be closed socially or medically.
Resulting from the chaos, we now have gender dysphoria, an emerging social-mental disorder.
A sense of unease that trans people have because of a perceived mismatch between their biological sex and their gender identity. Are men merely carnal, driven by their sexuality? Or are men more complex, having a spirit, soul and mind?
There is a hidden agenda, not told to the public. It could be propaganda, but lesbian and gay partner unions might in some near future may pair up with surrogacy motherhood, to adopt the parent-less children. Because theirs is a sterile union.
The LGBTQ debate isn’t a uniquely Kenyan affair. Ugandans passed Anti-Homosexuality bill in March 2023, prescribing harsh penalties for offenders.
Their fury with homosexuality dates back to 1886, when it is alleged that a king executed 45 Ugandan male pages in Namugongo for refusing to have sex with him. After they converted to Christianity.
Namugongo remains a controversial historical event with multiple interpretations. One side argues that a gay king was being demonized by conservative Christians. The other side exemplifies Christians heroically tried to rescue boys from a pedophile king.
Many questions abound about African history. Is it true that same-sex loving desire was accepted in ancient Africa, only to be shamed and demonized by Christianity?
For the record, where did the Gender Ideology spring from?
The first wave sought to counter discrimination against women. They were viewed as property. With no rights to education or work. The second wave birthed feminism. Whose goal was eradicating fertility. Women were given the option to sterilize, so as to be able to work and sleep around like men. Margaret Sanger (1879-1966) was the face of birth control.
The feminist theory was further advanced by Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986). She said that women need equal access to resources as men and as a result demanded equality. To encourage this, Affirmative Actions and laws were mooted.
In a conflicted world with fading absolutes, everyone is right! Truth is distorted.
The lines between black and white are blurred. We have Fifty Shades of Grey! Postmodern ideology has renamed a pedophile as a ‘minor-attracted person’. Not a criminal.
Have we lost the sense of what is evil?
God created them male and female. So they can have dominion, through child bearing. Binary gender gives life through reproduction. Reprobate gender doesn’t. Or has God changed His opinion about male and female? Evil distorts the truth.
Who came first, the Western colonizers, Christian missionaries or African traditionalists?
Is Western culture the standard of morality? Or is it the ancient Rome which came tumbling down after nine of its twelve emperors practiced sexual perversion homosexuality? If we go down that rabbit hole, we not only question our sexuality but our origins and identity.
Evil is pervasive and aggressive. Are LGBTQ people religious rebels?
Lynn Ngugi’s five-hour YouTube debate ended. The SCoK ruling has not been set aside. The battle for supremacy rages on. I wonder whether it is a three-some tussle pitting colonization, Christianity and culture against each other.
Or if it is a scuffle between two governing systems – the World versus the Word. Perhaps the brazen question isn’t what is your gender, but whose agenda.
