At GPT Hebron City’s Children’s Church, this verse wasn’t just a theme. It was a launchpad. 2024 roared to life. Our young saints embraced their Sent identity.
They turned lessons into lifestyle and tents into tiny tabernacles of praise.
💫 Nativity with a Twist: The Christmas Cantata
Who knew that a sheep who refused to sleep could teach us the Christmas story so well? Under Charles’ imaginative direction, the Cantata brought giggles, gasps, and grace to the story of Jesus’ birth.
As Pst. Joseph reminded us in his message, God’s grace chooses the unlikeliest cast. Rahab, Tamar, Jeconiah… and yes, even us.
🛠️ Little Hands, Big Project: Raising Stones and Hope
With a faith-fueled construction goal of Ksh. 45M, the kids raised over Ksh. 229,000 through giving cards and the brilliantly named “Jaza Lorry ya Mawe” Initiative. Because nothing says “I love God” like a stone and a smile.
Bishop Stanley Mwalili presided over the ground-breaking. But we are proud of out children. They are the living stones themselves.
🙏🏾 Discipleship: Less Scroll, More Scripture
From Peers Without Pressure to full-on Scripture studies. Our facilitators equipped 22 parents and multiple age groups with the tools to raise Kingdom Ambassadors at home.
Bedtime stories are great. But bedtime Bible stories? That’s legacy.
And yes, the Holy Spirit showed up on Zoom.
🕊️ Outreach, Baptisms & Beautiful Goodbyes
The Kamiti Prison outreach delivered 75 rolls of compassion. There were also 24 baptized preteens. The year 2024 proved that age is no barrier when it comes to walking in obedience.
We also celebrated babies, birthdays, and a brilliant book launch (Clothed by Nenoh).
And with bittersweet joy, we blessed Mary Wababu as she flew to Spain. Because #SentCommunity goes global.
🏕️ Retreats, Reflections & Ridiculous Games
Facilitators don’t just teach. They pray, retreat, and play absurd games in forests. Karura, we salute you. Laughter, like worship, is holy.
And Heaven’s Gate Prayer Mountain? Let’s just say heaven was eavesdropping as we retreated to where heavens meets humanity.
“O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come.” Psalm 65:2.
✝️ Curriculum Upgrade: One Hope, Many Hearts
With the One Hope Curriculum, every child received the same solid biblical teaching, class-wide. Thanks to Regina’s leadership and the team’s tenacity, we went from scattered to synchronized. Hello, Sunday School glow-up!
📈 Stats that Sing
- Five buzzing tents
- 11 new facilitators (now totaling 32!)
- Birth of a new class: Mt. Sinai (age 3 & 4)
- 25% increase in child attendance (from 162 to 210!)
- And still, more room in God’s harvest field
🎉 The Year of “Yes, Lord”
2024 wasn’t neat. It was noisy, glorious, faith-stretching and foam-cup filled. From fig tree skits to fig-wave parades. We laughed, we learned, and we leaned in.
Children’s Church at GPT Hebron City isn’t childcare. It’s Kingdom culture. God helped us in 2024. He carried us through to the end.
