“Established in His Ways” – A Jubilant Children’s Church (Q1 2025 Recap)

At Children’s Church, we’re not just walking.

We are marching, skipping, and dancing through God’s truth. Occasionally, we tumble our way with laughter on our lips. We have purpose in our hearts.

“Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth.” Psalm 86:11

As 2025 kicked off, we did what all growing and grounded churches do. We moved to a new tent space as construction of Children’s Church block swung into action!

That’s right. Construction helmets met holy hands as we broke ground on something big. Concrete and steel took form outside. Inside, we were building faith and character.

We were also growing our snack-serving stamina one Sunday at a time.

Attendance, Tents, and Tender Moments

This quarter, we hosted an average of 194 precious children each Sunday. Sure, that was a slight (8%) dip from last quarter’s 212 children.

But Mt. Sinai’s class saw a surprising jump in attendance. Clearly, the 3–4-year-olds heard we got new whiteboards and wanted in on the action.

Speaking of whiteboards: a huge shout-out to Lang’ata Road Fellowship for their brilliant gift! Our facilitators have never been more animated, and the kids now see God’s word as vividly as they feel it.

And yes, we shifted into a new tent space. It was closer to the main sanctuary. Meaning we shared sound waves. Sibling-rivalry style, with the main service.

But hey, the Media and Pastoral teams made it work. God bless them.

Lessons of Legacy, Snacks of Salvation

From January to March, we walked through 13 Stories of Hope. From Samuel’s call to the fiery furnace of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Yes, we turned the heat up literally and spiritually.

We also welcomed three new facilitators: Favor, Nicole, and Christabel.

Our freshly minted Overcomers (youth)! With their addition, we now have a 35-strong dream team. Plus six on excused “mission assignments,” aka life!

The Children Hospitality Ministry, as always, was on fire.

Not with the furnace kind, but with kettles and care. Serving tea and snacks faithfully, they are the unsung heroes who understand Acts 6:2 at a molecular level. Waiting at the tables

A Church That Builds People

Quarter 1 wasn’t just about bricks and mortar. It was about building people.

We graduated 23 Peers Without Pressure-trained parents.

The parents were commissioned and unleashed by a partnership between Raising Future Parents and GPT Hebron City. To disciple their kids at home. Seventeen children (aged 6–13) dove into daily scripture studies. Guided by passionate facilitators.

Six radiant preteens completed the ten-week Sprout Class. Forging a sturdy foundation for their walk, as new believers in Christ.

Conferences, Connections & Celebrations

We sent three delegates to Children Workers Conference.

The conference featured topics like “The Lost Part of Discipleship” and “Visualize or Fossilize.” These topics sparked enough light bulb moments to power an entire Sunday School.

Relationships were forged. Tea was consumed. Lives were changed.

And let’s not forget the joy explosion that was Michelle’s bridal shower. Forty-two ladies sparkled and graced the memorable bridesmaid luncheon. They rivalled Revelation 21’s description of the New Jerusalem.

Michelle and Mike tied the knot in April. Blessings upon blessings!

Looking Ahead

We step boldly into Quarter 2 with eagerness.

We’re ready for Easter Specials, Benchmarking Visits, and Facilitator Training. There will also be more tea- and snack-fueled class moments.

The Strategic Meeting on March 31st lit a fresh fire. One that’s reshaping how we disciple, collaborate, and impact our church and community.

We’re not just doing church. We’re raising Kingdom Ambassadors.

So here’s to more muddy shoes and heartfelt prayers. Let’s celebrate memory verses recited and new songs learnt. We cherish the countless “aha” moments in the name of Jesus.

Modeling to children of what it means to know, love, and obey God!

From tents to construction works. From crayons to callings. Children’s Church is moving with God. And we’re not looking back.
