✨ Faith Milestones – Children’s Church Newsletter (Q3 2025)

Walking in God’s Way. Finding life, rest, and joy together.

This quarter (July – September) was a beautiful journey of highs and lows, at GPT Hebron City, Children’s Church family.

We celebrated new life, with babies Leona Katembu and Myles Agimba. Learnt Parenting God’s Way. Welcomed guest facilitators. And were inspired by the Royal Servants from the U.S.

We rejoiced at VBS 2025 and our first Children’s Concert. Marked CHM’s 3rd anniversary. And welcomed Mary Wababu back from Spain 🇪🇸. As we sent Favor Cherop to the UK 🇬🇧.

What’s more, we prayed together. Studied God’s Word. Grew weekly in children numbers. And made strides on the NextGen Building Project.

Alongside joy, we walked through sorrow in remembering Ethan Ng’ang’a. Yet even there, we saw God’s comfort.

As we step into Quarter 4, we do so with hope. Ready for retreats, outreach, and Christmas celebrations that will Establish our children in God’s ways. 🌟

On July 5, over 50 parents gathered at GPT Hebron City for our Parenting Seminar themed “Parenting God’s Way” (Malachi 4:6). Led by Mr. & Mrs. Kimunya. Seasoned coaches and authors, accompanied by their daughter, Tenashe.

The day was filled with laughter 😆. Honest reflections. And timeless wisdom for family life. The seminar reminded us that parenting is more than correcting behaviour. It is discipling our children for eternity.

Through plenary sessions and group discussions, parents wrestled with real-life questions and embraced key lessons: Submit to God’s authority. Model faith in action. Remain teachable. And be vulnerable before our children.

We left encouraged, equipped, and hopeful.

Inspired to nurture families rooted in Christ and guided by His Word. Truly, a refreshing reminder. When we parent God’s way, we partner with Him in shaping a generation for His Kingdom. 🌱

In Quarter 3, our Children’s Church family joyfully welcomed two beautiful babies. Leona Katembu, born to Sarah & Mike Katembu, and Myles Agimba, born to Feizun & Maxwell Agimba.

Both moments were radiant reminders of God’s goodness. He entrusted these precious little ones to loving families within our community.

Celebrating baby Leona

Baby Leona’s story especially shone as a witness of God’s provision and protection. From a delicate pregnancy to a safe delivery.

We gathered to celebrate. The atmosphere overflowed with laughter. Testimonies. Heartfelt prayers. And songs of thanksgiving.

Celebrating baby Myles

In true Hebron City fashion, our facilitators and hospitality teams also shared fellowship. The Word. And thoughtful gifts with each family.

Rejoicing and giving glory to God. “Children are a heritage from the Lord” (Ps 127:3).

On July 20, our Children’s Church was blessed to host the Royal Servants, from the U.S.

They were in Kenya for their annual summer mission, in partnership with DICE Ministry Kenya. Their passion for evangelism and discipleship overflowed as they served in schools, communities, and right here with our children.

At Mt. Moriah (3-4 yrs) and Mt. Sinai (5-6 yrs), the team brought Bible stories to life through props, role play, storytelling, and scripture reading. The children listened wide-eyed to the journeys of Noah and Jonah. Laughing, learning, and discovering God’s truth in fresh, memorable ways.

“The gospel came alive through props, role play, and storytelling. Leaving our children inspired and eager to follow God’s Word.”🌿

We are deeply grateful for their visit and the inspiration they left behind. A reminder that the gospel is alive, engaging, and for every generation.

On July 26, the Children Hospitality Ministry (CHM) team came together for a refreshing retreat. A joyful celebration of their 3rd anniversary.

A time to pause, connect, and give thanks to God.

Thankful for the privilege of serving the children faithfully, week after week. Laughter, fellowship, and reflection marked the day as the team looked back with gratitude and forward with renewed commitment.

Rev. Albert graced the occasion.

He applauded the team’s consistency. Reminding them that true service flows from godly character, above skill or knowledge (Acts 6:2-4). The team presented him with a token of thanks, for his encouragement and leadership.

The celebration was a beautiful reminder that in serving the little ones, we are serving Christ Himself. 🌿

After a year in Spain 🇪🇸, pursuing her postgraduate studies, Mary Wababu returned home in July. Having completed her coursework and graduated.

“Studying in Spain stretched me beyond my comfort zone. It taught me resilience, teamwork, and to lean fully on God’s grace.” 🌍

Her time abroad was transformative. Helping her navigate new cultures. We are grateful for God’s faithfulness in her journey and delighted to have her back in the team. 🌿

On August 16, seven facilitators gathered early in the morning for our 3rd quarter prayer meeting. Led by Trs. John and Josephine.

“In God’s presence, we find our bearing and strength for every task ahead.” 🌟

A precious time of thanksgiving for milestones already achieved. Interceding for the activities ahead, especially the August VBS.

The three hours in God’s presence felt like only minutes. Reminding us that when we first give ourselves to Him, He faithfully strengthens us for ministry. 🌿

From August 20–23, GPT Hebron City came alive with color, laughter, and song. As 205 children gathered for this year’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) under the theme “God’s Way vs. Man’s Way” (Jeremiah 6:16).

With the support of over 30 dedicated volunteers, the children enjoyed three days of Bible lessons, crafts, games, and worship woven with creativity and fun.

Workshops in music, art, drama, and dance gave the children space to express themselves while discovering the joy of choosing God’s way.

The memory verse became a living anchor: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good place way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Each session reminded them that walking with God is not just wise, it is life-giving.

The week culminated in our very first Children’s Concert. Children showcased their gifts with confidence and delight. Parents and friends were treated to songs, skits, and performances that reflected all they had learned in the VBS.

We celebrate this milestone with heartfelt gratitude. To every person who taught, cooked, cleaned, prayed, gave, or simply showed up to cheer the children on. Truly, you made VBS 2025 unforgettable! 🌿💛

In August, we joyfully bid farewell to Favor Cherop. She embarked on her postgraduate studies in History, at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, near Liverpool.

“May God order your steps and cause you to shine brightly for Him, in the UK.” 🌿

We celebrate this exciting new chapter in her life. Praying for God’s guidance, wisdom, and favor. As she grows both academically and spiritually in her new environment. 🌍✨

In August, our church family was deeply shaken by the sudden passing of Ethan Ejakait Ng’ang’a. A joyful six-year-old whose life touched many.

“Forever in our hearts, Ethan. A joyful light now resting in the arms of Jesus.” 🕊️

After an injury while playing and a brief stay in hospital, Ethan went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 9. A week later, he was laid to rest in Nakuru. Surrounded by family, friends, and a community that loved him dearly.

We stood alongside Ethan’s parents, brother, and grandparents in prayer and support. Giving thanks for the gift of his life. And the joy he brought to our church family.

As we mourned together, we found comfort in the words of Jesus: “Do not let your hearts be troubled… In my Father’s house are many rooms” (John 14:1–2).

His time with us was short. His memory remains a blessing and a reminder of God’s eternal promises. 🌿

On July 27, we to hosted Esther Nthenya (an Overcomer/Youth) in Mt. Sinai (3-4 yrs). She shared the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17). Though it was her first time teaching in such an environment, Esther’s honesty and humility shone through.

“It wasn’t easy, but with Tr. Sheila’s encouragement, I felt young again. I wouldn’t mind another such experience.”

We thank God for her willingness to step in and inspire the children with courage from God’s Word.

In August, Pst. Alice Ilandi ministered at Mt. Carmel (9-10 yrs) and Mt. Olives (11-12 yrs). Teaching on Attitude, Identity, and the Holy Spirit (John 1:12).

“It was refreshing and an honor to serve. The children’s attentiveness encouraged me that God is at work among them.”

Even with the challenge of large classes. She left encouraged by their discipline and engagement. We are grateful for her ministry. And the reminder that every child carries a God-given identity worth nurturing.

“Our guest facilitators, you have sown God’s Word into our children. Your ministry is shaping lives for eternity.” 🌿

On September 3–4, Psts. Joseph and Mercy joined over 1,000 pastors at the ARC Southern Africa Conference in Johannesburg. Alongside, Psts. Alex, Annie, and Brian from Deliverance Church International, Umoja.

The atmosphere was alive with worship, learning, and Kingdom friendships. Church leaders from 20 countries across the globe came together under one roof.

The conference centred on Discipleship and Church Planting.

It overflowed with powerful sermons. Honest panel discussions (on Friendship in Ministry). Moving testimonies (dubbed Fresh Voices).

In addition to practical sessions on Building strong kids’ churches, Leading second, Dream team culture (aka volunteers), and Reaching the next generation.

Every moment was a reminder that God is raising leaders. Not to run alone, but to run together. A radiant picture of the church united for His mission. 🌿❤️

“Thank you, Rev. Albert and Pst. Mary. For believing in us. Investing in us. And showing us how to run our race without running alone.” 🌿

For six months running, the Children’s Church facilitators have been holding biweekly online Bible studies. Focused on prayer, using guides from FOCUS.

Together we have explored prayer themes.

Including, Motive and model of prayer and fasting, Call to and assurance in prayer, Prayer and spiritual warfare, besides Challenges and struggles in prayer. We sharpen one another through scripture.

“Growing in prayer together, God is shaping us into vessels fit to serve His children.” 🙏

This rhythm has deepened our understanding of God’s Word. Strengthening our bonds as a team. By rotating leadership, we experience each other’s unique strengths. Enjoying rich fellowship.

Before we can pour into children, we must first be vessels filled and refreshed by God. 🌿

This quarter, our weekly Bible lessons, from Nicodemus (#51) to The death of Stephen (#69) anchored the children in God’s Word. We’ll wrap up the Stories of Hope Curriculum (#75) in quarter 4.

Average attendance in Q3 (206)

An average of 206 children attended weekly.

This represents a 6% increase from quarter 1. But, -1% compared to quarter 2. We celebrate steady growth in numbers and in faith. The combination of teaching, craftwork, and interactive activities ensured that learning remained both engaging and transformative.

“Each week, our children are growing in God’s Word, in numbers, in joy, and in depth.” 🌟

The Children’s Hospitality Ministry (CHM) served faithfully.

Showing up on time and with passion to wait at the tables. Their consistency reminds us that even the smallest acts of service create moments of joy and fellowship that the children look forward to every Sunday. 🌿

A major milestone was the successful transition to a new service structure in July. With two full hours in class, children now have more time with their teachers.

Creating space for meaningful discussions, hands-on activities, and deeper reflection on lessons.

Shifting snacks to the end of the service allowed the Word to remain central and unhurried. Helping children leave, both spiritually and physically nourished.

Beyond our church walls, we partnered with CITAM Embakasi. Teaching the Pastoral Program of Instruction at Rophine School. Using Scripture Union’s curriculum, we shared God’s truth with Grade 1-9 learners, every Friday.

This collaboration is opening doors for the Kingdom. Ensuring that children in our community encounter God’s Word, in their classrooms as well as in church.

“Side by side with CITAM Embakasi at Rophine School, because we don’t do ministry alone.” 🌿✨

In September, we were delighted to welcome David Olalo from Eagles (Men’s) Fellowship into our Children’s Church family.

“I’m grateful for the chance to serve in Children’s Church. Excited to learn, grow, and walk with the little ones, in God’s Word.” 🙏

Over the coming months, David will be oriented into our activities and approaches, as he steps into this calling. We appreciate his willingness to serve.

Ultimately, it is God’s work. We are all privileged to be part of it. 🌿

The Children’s Church building project, launched earlier this year.

It continues to move forward by God’s grace and the generosity of His people. Through monthly giving on the first (#PledgeRedemption) Sunday, we completed the building’s foundation, ground floor slab, and columns to support the first floor.

Looking ahead. Our prayer and focus for October–December is to finish the first floor slab, ground floor walling, and interiors. So that, the children can occupy their new space in January 2026.

“Building for NextGen. One brick at a time.” 🌟

Weekly WhatsApp fundraisers (#TujengeNextGenChurch na SOO Mbili), a major fundraiser in October and piggy banks collections will help us get there.

Together, brick by brick, faith by faith. 🌿

This quarter, we navigated a few challenges. Limited space caused by ongoing construction. Gaps in our children’s praise and worship. And the need for better PA and music equipment.

Yet through it all, God’s grace has sustained us. Reminding us that every hurdle is an opportunity to trust Him more deeply. And grow stronger together as a ministry. 🌿

We enter the final quarter of 2025, with excitement for what lies ahead.

A refreshing facilitators’ retreat. A children’s home visit, to model kindness and compassion. Launch of children’s bible studies in Life Groups, for deeper discipleship. And Christmas cantata, to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Each of these activities is an opportunity to nurture faith. Strengthen community. And prepare the next generation to walk confidently with God. 🌿

Our hearts are full of gratitude. For every child who laughed and learned. Every parent who showed up. Every facilitator who gave their time. And every friend who prayed or supported.

“May the Lord bless our children, keep them in His ways, and cause them to shine as lights for His Kingdom.”

Together, we have seen God’s faithfulness in both joy and sorrow. In growth and in challenge.

Looking into Quarter 4, we remain confident that “He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6).
